About the ecotrail
Due to the abundance of snow and the complex topography of Mount Aibga, numerous streams and waterfalls have formed. One of these, Medvezhiy (Bear) Waterfall, is located at the headwaters of the Tobias Stream in the Cirque-2 Valley at an altitude of 1,970 meters above sea level. The waterfall is a sloping waterfall, meaning that unlike Polikar, it does not cascade down a cliff, but flows down a slope. The stream reaches its greatest power during the heavy snowmelt in May and June.
The radial eco-trail starts from the lower station of the Aibga chairlift, leads to the chapel of Saints Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov, and their mother Sophia, and then descends along the ski slope to the foot of the waterfall itself. The route runs along steep slopes among alpine meadows and subalpine crooked forests.
Highlights of the route:
- Chapel of Saints Vera, Nadezhda, Lyubov, and their mother Sophia
- Subalpine tallgrass meadow
- Panoramas of the Main Caucasus Range
- Medvezhy Waterfall
When planning your route, we recommend considering your health and objectively assessing your physical capabilities.
