Polikarya Waterfall

Head to the Polikarya Waterfall for an unforgettable experience, fresh mountain air, and breathtaking views of the Caucasus Mountains.

About the place

The Polikarya waterfall got its name from the Greek word παλικάρι, which means “hero”. Its height is as much as 72 meters! A rock ledge divides the stream into two water branches, which, when falling with crushing force, break against the rocks.

The waterfall is formed from the Rzhany stream, the largest watercourse on the slopes of the Krasnaya Polyana Resort. The object is fed by meltwater and precipitation that falls on the Aibga ridge, so it is most full of water in May and June. However, it never dries out completely. In the place where the Polikarya waterfall is located, there are several more waterfalls of different sizes.

A network of cable cars has been laid to the Polikarya Waterfall - from the finishing station “Polikarya Waterfall” a well-maintained trail begins, along which the path to the main point of the route takes no more than half an hour.
