Fern

The «Fern Trail» eco-trail winds through a shady broadleaf forest teeming with plants and animals. It gets its name from the abundance of ferns along the route. These amazing plants first appeared on Earth millions of years ago and have survived to this day.

Polikarya Waterfall

The Ecotrope trail is quite challenging and consists of a continuous three-kilometer climb, part of which runs along an exposed slope. And on sunny summer days, it gets very hot along the route. Therefore, this hike is best suited for visitors with experience in mountain hiking and good physical fitness.

Abandoned T-bar

This easy trail leads to the upper station of the VL-1000 chairlift, one of the first T-bar lifts in the Sochi mountains. The trail gets its name from the structure that still stands there—a historic landmark and a milestone in Krasnaya Polyana’s skiing history.

Beech Forest

This moderately difficult trail winds through a pristine beech forest from the upper station of the «Polikarya Waterfall» cable car to the upper station of the «Eastern Forest» cable car. The eastern beech is the primary tree species in the Sochi Black Sea coastal region. It is a robust deciduous tree with a slender, columnar trunk and smooth gray bark.
